Tungurahua Summit

Description:

Climbing and Trekking in a two-day tour from Baños Ecuador, Tungurahua Volcano. An exclusive experience full of adventure and beautiful landscapes awaits you, climbing up to 5023 meters is not to be missed.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Will meet at your hostel at 13:00 pm, then you will take the private transport for approximately 46 minutes to the entrance of the Sangay National Park 2,600 meters. From the entrance you will take a 3-hour walk through the park until you reach the refuge at 3,800 meters. After arriving at the refuge, it is time to relax and take pictures of the landscape around the refuge. You will have an early dinner, then you will rest early as you will wake up at 1AM in the morning to start climbing the Volcano. The time to reach the top always depends on your physical level, if you are good at climbing probably take 6 hours. Round trip, if you climb very slowly about 8 hours.

Day 2: Summit of the Tungurahua Volcano at 5023 meters. The most exciting part, a real challenge if the weather permits. Now is the time to admire other mountains of the Andes such as Chimborazo, Carihuairazo, Altares, and Cotopaxi. After enjoying taking many photos, it is time to start descending to the refuge, where you will arrive at noon. It is time to have something to eat before the walk to the entrance, where the car awaits you to return to Baños. The tour ends in Baños around 4 to 5 pm.

Professional mountain guide, transportation from Baños to Baños, and accommodation in the refuge, dinner on the first day, breakfast in the refuge on the last day, special climbing equipment.

harness, helmet, ice ax, sleeping bag.

Necessary Equipment (not included):

water bottle, inner fleece gloves, energy drinks and snacks, camera, sunscreen, warm walking pants, sunglasses, padded jacket or similar, wool hat, poles, face mask, large backpack ( 50-70 liters), reasonable backpack (35 liters), warm gear including padded jacket, camel-type water container, AAA batteries, headlamp.

What to bring:

warm clothes, trekking shoes, personal water bottle, sunscreen, personal items, camera, sunglasses, snacks, flashlight with batteries.
